Crown Princess Srirasmi of Thailand (born Srirasmi Akharaphongpreecha, December 9, 1971; _th. ศรีรัศมิ์ อัครพงศ์ปรีชา) is the current royal consort of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand. She now has surname Mahidol na Ayudhaya. Her formal name and title is Phrachaoworawongther Phra-ongchao Srirasmi Phraworachaya nai Somdej Phraborom Orasathiraj Siammakut Rajakumari (Her Royal Highness Princess Srirasmi, Royal Consort to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn) [ [http://information.rid.go.th/secretary/s241.htm The Secretariat of the Cabinet, Thailand] th icon] . Born to a family of modest means, she entered the "service" of the Crown Prince at the age of 22. She married the Crown Prince in April 2005.

Early life

Princess Srirasmi was born in Samut Sakhon Province to a family of modest means. She was the third child of Aphirut ( _th. อภิรุจ) and Wanthanee ( _th. วันทนีย์) Akharaphongpreecha. She has a total of 4 siblings. In 1993, at the age of 22, Princess Srirasmi entered the service of Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn as a civil servant in charge of "waiting on him". Princess Srirasmi enrolled in Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University in 1997 and graduated in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in management science. Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn personally bestowed her with her diploma. In 2007 she received a Master of Arts degree in Home Economics from Kasetsart University.

Marriage and family

Princess Srirasmi married the crown prince on 10 February 2001 at a private ceremony at the Prince's Nonthaburi Palace. The public was informed of the event some time afterwards. The Prince, who had married twice before and have children previous wives, stated it was his intention to settle down: “I am now 50 years old and think I should have a complete family.” [The Nation, [http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2005/04/30/national/data/national_17216949.html "Simplicity, warmth win hearts"] ] After the wedding, she was styled Mom Srirasmi Mahidol na Ayudhya (Mahidol is the surname of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and King Ananda Mahidol, whereas na Ayudhya signifies an indirect line, i.e., she was 'married' into the family).

On Valentines Day, 15 February 2005, it was announced that Mom Srirasmi was pregnant. On 29 April 2005, a healthy son was born via Caesarean section at Siriraj Hospital, named Dipangkorn Rasmijoti.Because of the birth, she was granted by King Bhumibol Adulyadej the title "Princess of Thailand" and style "Her Royal Highness" as the Royal Consort of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn.
