Nagendra Prasad Rijal

Nagendra Prasad Rijal (1927 - 1994) was the Prime Minister of Nepal from July 16, 1973 to December 1, 1975, and from March 21, 1986 to June 18, 1986. He was born in Telia, in Dhankuta District of Nepal to a wealthy land-owning Brahmin family. His father was Lt. Bishnu Prasad Rijal.

During his two terms in the capacity as the Prime Minister he contributed significantly to the upliftment of the working and impoverished peasants[citation needed]. Rijal promoted Nepal as being the "only Hindu Kingdom" in the world. He was also the president of the World Hindu Federation. He presided over various projects and worked for local developments.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Asalata Devi Rijal, his mother, seven children, grand children and great-grand children. He was a son-in-law to the Bastola Family of Eastern Nepal,
