American Legion (Loyalist)

The American Legion was a British provincial regiment raised for service during the American Revolutionary War.

It was raised on Long Island in October, 1780. In June 1781, it was sent on raids to Portsmouth, Virginia and on September 1781 to New London, Connecticut.

It was commanded by Brigadier General Benedict Arnold. It was disbanded in 1783.
