The Panama national rugby union team represents Panama in rugby union. They are nicknamed the "Diablos Rojos" (Red Devils).

History

Panama has not yet qualified for the rugby world cup.

Panama's first international match was in 2005, against Costa Rica, which they lost 60-0.

In December 2006, Panama played a Law School Veterans selection from Madrid, Spain, at Balboa Stadium. The result of this game was 14-12 to the Madrid team.

In December, 2007, Panama participated in the First Central American Rugby cup. The other competing teams were Guatemala and Costa Rica A & B. Costa Rica A came first in this tournament, Panama 2nd, Guatemala 3rd, and Costa Rica B 4th.

At the beginning of 2008, the "Diablos Rojos" were recognised by the Panamanian Sports Institute as an official rugby club in the country as this acts as a platform for Guadalajara 2011. Their training sessions are held in the sport field nicknamed "El Infierno" which is located in Paraiso's neighbourhood where they've already build the H's.

Panama also competes in Rugby Sevens, and will be playing in the Central American VIIs Tournament in Panama on July 19th, 2008. Costa Rica and Guatemala will also be participating.
