Chhachhar is a Muslim Jat clan found in Punjab,Sindh, Pakistan.

History and origin
The Chhachhar claim Mughal origin, and claim descent from the famous king Timur. But according to another tradition, Surar, Subhago, Silro and Chachar were once slaves of Bunga Rai, the Raja of Umarkot in Sindh, and were freed by Jam Jakhar.[1] chhachhar are also found in sindh in district jamshoro,TandoAllahyar,hyderabad,thar,saeed abad e.t.c
Distribution
The Chachar are found in Sargodha, Multan, Bahawalpur, Okara and Lodhran districts.
Basirpur in Okara District is an important village of the tribe.

Famous Persons
- Mian Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar is prominent Chhachhar in this region and was elected as Member of provincial assembly of Punjab. Most of the Chhachhar(s) are landlords and they used to grow of potato, wheat, rice, cucumber, sugar and maize crops.
