Dooble is a free and Open Source Web browser. The aim of Dooble is to create a comfortable and safe browsing medium.[3][dubious ] Currently, Dooble is available for FreeBSD,[2][dubious ] Linux,[4] OS X,[4] and Windows.[4] Dooble should be compatible with any operating system where Qt is available.[citation needed][dubious ]

History

The first version (0.1) was released in September, 2009 [5]. The current version (1.25) was released in November, 2011.[2]

Features

Some of Dooble's features include encrypted browsing information,[citation needed] non-JavaScript file manager and FTP browser [6], highly-configurable proxy settings,[citation needed] intelligent location widget, and automatic removal of cookie information[7] [8].

Dooble also integrates the distributed search engine YaCy[9].

Development and Programming

Dooble is developed by a handful of people. External recommendations are reviewed and if accepted, applied.[10][dubious ] Each and every release undergoes a strict review process. [11][dubious ]

Future goals include bookmarks and a custom distributed search engine.

Licensing

Dooble's source code is free and open source, and falls under the GNU General Public License (GPL). This license permits anyone to view, modify, and redistribute the source code.

Public

Dooble has been rated as the ninth of ten "top" Linux browsers by Jack Wallen [12].
